Description

Given the requests we reschedule the broadcast of the play Farewell Ayacucho, presented in the framework of the days La Memoria de los Otros. Second opportunity to enjoy this historic and moving piece by the Peruvian company Yuyachkani on the journey of a missing man returning from the afterlife in search of his remains. You can see the play Farewell Ayacucho through this link to YouTube i by the Facebook Live of Casa Amenrica Catalunya.En Adiós Ayacucho, a work based on the novel by Julio Ortega, Alfonso Cánepa, an Ayacuchano farmer, victim of the violence of the 80s in Peru, decides to travel from his city to Lima to ask the president of the Republic to help him recover his bones, who surely, he thinks, his victims took to the capital so that he could rest in peace. The Yuyachkani group created the theatrical version in 1990 and, since its premiere, 30 years ago, its protagonist has continued to tell its story, making this work a great artistic reference to raise awareness about this period of The History of Peru, the work around memory and the defense of human rights. After the performance we invite you to see the colloquium that Francesc Casadesús, director of the Grec Festival of Barcelona, held with Miguel Rubio Zapata, director of the company, and the actors Augusto Casafranca and Ana Correa on the details of this play that, after 3 decades of existence, remains in force, as well as the trajectory and working methods of the renowned Peruvian group.
